Teachers or Parents: The Gospel theme is prayer and the
importance of praying. Children should begin as early as possible
to pray and to see how important it is to maintain communication
with God.

*Go around the group and ask each child what he or she would
like to talk to God about today. List the items they give you on
the board. When everyone has had a chance to name something, ask
them to bow their heads and say a prayer with all the items
listed being mentioned in the prayer.

*Print out the Lord's Prayer on an easel or a blackboard or
have a transparency made in advance. Take each petition in the
prayer separately and ask the children to tell what it means in
their own words.

*Ask how many have already memorized the Lord's Prayer. Take
some time with the assistance of those who already know it to
help everyone memorize the prayer....
