Today is Thanksgiving! It is a day we set aside to do what? (Let them answer.) It is a day we set aside to GIVE THANKS! That's why we call it THANKS - GIVING. Now if we are going to give thanks for what we have, who do we give thanks to? (Let them answer.) We give thanks to God! God is the one who has given us all that we have. Let's name some of the things God has given us: our lives, food, air, friends, church. (Let the children supply all there is for which we give thanks.)

Now, how can we tell God we are thankful? (Let them answer.) By just telling God -- talking to God. What do we call talking to God? (Let them answer.) We call that "PRAYER."
