The Sermon:

For several weeks we've been thinking and talking about God's word. God's word is real, not made-up stories. It's like a foundation to build our lives on. It's like a map to show us the way to go through life. It's like seeds planted in our hearts to produce a crop of happy things. It's like a mirror that shows us how we can improve and do better. It's like a lamp to light our way so that we don't make bad mistakes and stumble as we live.

Yes, God's word here in our *Bible is really special. There are some other special things about his word. It is alive. Hebrews 4:12 says, "Indeed, the word of God is living and active...."
